The Dao (The Way)

In Systems Thinking, the Dao is the Prime Mover—the total, integrated field of energy from which all Feedback Loops and Dynamic Equilibria emerge.
The Dao manifests through the interaction of Yin and Yang. This is the universe's original Hegelian Dialectic.

Yin (The Receptive): Dark, cold, feminine, stillness, and the Drone. It is the "potential" of the system.

Yang (The Active): Light, heat, masculine, movement, and the Melody. It is the "expression" of the system.

The Taijitu (The Symbol): The famous "Yin-Yang" circle is a diagram of Dynamic Equilibrium. Within the heart of Yin is a seed of Yang, and vice-versa. This ensures that the system never reaches a state of total Stasis or total Chaos, but remains in a perpetual state of flow.
Researcher Note:
The Path of Least Resistance: Water is the primary metaphor for the Dao. It is soft and yielding, yet it can wear away the hardest rock. It always finds the lowest point—the Zero Point of energy—and in doing so, it supports all life without effort.
